Tom Kruse' truck Previous photograph content Next photograph
Tom Kruse operated the mail run between Maree and Birdsville between 1936 and 1957 and established a reputation as always getting the mail through. All going well, it took three days to drive from Marree to Birdsville, one day turn around in Birdsville, and three days to drive back to Marree. According to Wikipedia, the original truck (a Leyland Badger) has been restored and is at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood in the Adelaide Hills. This appears to be another of Kruse truck.
