Broken Hill Living Desert

The Living Desert is an area a few kilometres outside Broken Hill which has been allowed to revert to the natural setting. The Living Desert includes walking tracks through a Flora and Fauna Reserve surrounded by a fence keeping out dogs, cats, foxes and other vermin. There is also a collection of large sculptures along a walking track around the summit of a hill looking out over the dry and usually barren surrounding country.

Kangaroos are fairly common in the Living Desert (outside the Flora and Fauna Reserve).
