Canberra weather was variable during our two day visit catching up with family members. On the first day (Saturday) light, but nearly continuous, rain fell and temperatures remained low. Driving around Canberra was not difficult because of low traffic volumes; it appeared that cancelling school Saturday sporting events because of wet grounds had a significant effect on road traffic.
Sunday was brighter with less rain but cold wind. The rain stopped completely in early afternoon but returned with cloudbursts later in the day. Over Sunday night the air temperature dropped to 10°C. The exhibition grounds were busy with a dog show in one part, gemstone enthusiasts gathered in another part with caravans and motorhomes as well as the general use caravan park with about 60 powered sites and the same number of unpowered sites - most of them occupied.
