We awoke to a cool, but bright, morning. Four other caravans or motor-homes had spent the night in this large rest area and there was plenty of space for more. Caravan and Pathfinder had remained connected overnight so we were soon away on the New England Highway heading north towards Tenterfield. Traffic was light and the road surface reasonably good.
In Tenterfield we turned onto the Bruxner Highway for the downhill run to Drake, Tabulam and Casino. Traffic was not heavy but the few vehicles going the same way as us sometimes had to wait for a passing opportunity as the road wound its way down into the Clarence Valley, across the Clarence River at Tabulam, then up over into the Richmond River Valley and down again to Casino. We continued to see a number of caravans going in the opposite direction, not really surprising considering this is between Christmas and New Year but overall traffic levels have been light all the way from Canberra and the number of caravans (and motor-homes) seemed high considering the overall traffic.
Entering Casino we drove to our house and backed the caravan into the parking space beside the house.
