Travelling Australia - Journal 2012
1 May 2012 - Gunbower
A very quiet day in Gunbower; the weather tried to rain in the morning but nothing happened, the wind was cold and gusty all day. I drove to have a look at Kow Swamp which used to be a wetlands but was long ago absorbed into the irrigation system as a water storage with feeder channels from Torrumbarry Weir keeping the water level up so irrigators can be supplied with water. The present lake is dominated by dead gum trees which used to grow around the wetland but have died from long submergence.
