Pleasant first day of this trip. We drove from Casino along the Summerland Way to Grafton then on the Pacific
Highway to Port Macquarie. Weather was pleasant for travelling with bright sunshine and a little medium-level cloud. A gusty wind occasionally moved the caravan around a bit but it was not a serious inconvenience.
Traffic on the Pacific Highway was very light, with few heavy trucks to be seen. We couldn't work out any
reason for this light traffic on a normal week day in a normal week but it made driving more pleasant. Roadworks between Grafton and Halfway Creek seem to be some form of duplication although they are called Safety Works.
Arriving at Port Macquarie we drove along Hastings River Drive to the recommended caravan park - Edgewater Holiday Park fronting on the river - where we booked in for two nights.
