21 February 2008 - Pathana Lane to North Haven
After an uneventful night we woke to a coolish day, there had been a dew overnight. I wandered around the rest area after
breakfast; many golden orb spiders were sitting patiently in their webs waiting for a flying insect
to come along. We left the rest area along the New England Highway bound for Maitland then joined the Pacific Highway
near Hexham before stopping at McDonalds Heatherbrae for a cup of coffee. Traffic through
Maitland was fairly heavy, much of it probably local traffic.
From Heatherbrae we travelled the now well known Pacific Highway north of Newcastle, stopping at Bulahdelah for
petrol then had an uneventful trip to Kew where we turned off the Pacific Highway to North Haven.
